Why does my Wi-Fi drop in the back bedroom?

If the Wi-Fi is great in the living room but keeps dropping in the back bedroom, you're not alone. In most Broward homes it comes down to where the router sits and what's between it and you.
Start with the easy checks
- Restart the modem first, then the router, and give them two minutes.
- Take the router out of the TV cabinet. Wood, glass and metal all block the signal.
- Put it up high and near the middle of the house if you can.
Concrete and stucco are tough on Wi-Fi
A lot of homes here are built with concrete block walls, and the signal loses strength through every one. If the bedroom is two or three walls away from the router, moving it a few feet may not be enough.
When a mesh system makes sense
A mesh system adds a second (or third) point that talks to the main router, so the signal goes around the walls instead of through them. It's the right fix when:
- The house is over about 1,800 square feet, or has more than one floor.
- The router can't be moved closer to the middle.
- You've already tried the easy checks above.
If you'd like me to measure the signal room by room, you can book a Wi-Fi check.
